Racha Ghayad, Ph.D.

Racha earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration (Finance and Banking) from Caen university (IAE of Caen) in France. She graduated with High Distinction, and received the Jury felicitation. Subsequently, her thesis was published by Editions Universitaires Européennes in 2011 in a Book entitled: " Gouvernance et performance Globale des Banques islamiques."

Since then, she has developed strong interests in Islamic Banking and Finance and has published a Book entitled: "Les banques islamiques: Défi de la performance et de la gouvernance " in 2008 by Union of Arab Banks and a Book Co-written with Mondher Bellalah in 2014 entitled: "On Islamic Banking, Performance and Financial Innovations," edited by Mondher Bellalah, Cambridge Scholars publishing. Dr. Racha Ghayad is the Head of Finance Department at the Lebanese University and she is also a Research Affiliate to Farouk Jabre Center For Arabic & Islamic Science and Philosophy at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in Islamic Finance and Banking.

In addition to her wide academic experience, she is currently a senior associate with the ACT Leaders where she has delivered several workshops on International Finance, Investments, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, Financial Institution Administration, Political Finance, Financial Theories, Treasury Management, Financial Analysis, Capital market and Firm Economy, Advanced Accounting Skills, Analytical Accounting, Management Control, Banking Operations, Managerial Accounting and Cost Accounting, among others. She has worked on several consultancy projects with banks in KSA, UAE & Bahrain.
